Future Seed

August 25, 2009

Our church family started this journey in October of 2005. Together, the congregation pledged to give $546,501 towards the construction of a new preschool/children's building and new main entrance/lobby. Over the last four years, not only is the construction complete, but the Future Seed goal has also been reached. In fact, the goal has been exceeded by $1445.76. We thank the Lord for helping us to achieve this goal, and we thank the members of our congregation who have been faithful and generous in their giving.

The building is all but finished. We are still waiting for our front doors to be replaced, but those are scheduled to arrive this week.

When we began "Future Seed" way back in October of 2005, our congregation pledged to give over $546,000 above and beyond their tithes towards this project. So far, our wonderful family of faith has given over $521,000 over the last three and a half years! Our goal is only $24,989 from being reached.

Since the building is almost finished, you may wonder why the rest of the Future Seed money is needed. The answer is that there still remains some significant projects that cannot be completed until the full goal is reached. These include a new sign on the corner of McKinley and Davidson, a sound system for the children's worship area, interior signage, washer and dryer, window shades, and a few other minor projects.

February 1, 2009 - Grand Opening

This coming Sunday will mark our first Sunday to fully use the new building. Not only can you walk in the new main entrance, but we will hold Sunday School classes, Extended Session, and Children's Worship in the new facilities. We will also have a special time of recognition for the Building Committee during both morning worship services to thank them for their hard work over the last year.

While there are still some finishing touches yet to be done, we will be able to use the main entrance to the buildling on this Sunday, January 25! The Grand Opening is still scheduled for the first Sunday in February where we will hold Sunday School, Children's Church, Extended Session, and AWANA in the new building for the first time.

The finish line is so near. The outside is basically complete...

The Landscaping is all but finished. The sod will go in today.

The handrails have been installed on the front steps, along with the stone on the base of the columns...

And the furniture is arriving (in stages). The cribs are here...

January 19, 2009

The building is in the final stages. The committee will be doing the final inspections this week with the contractor, and possession of the buildling might be transfered this week. Our first official Sunday in the new building will be February 1! However, there is a possiblity that we will be able to use the main entrance on January 25.
