The Preteen ministry at FBCB is designed to be a special preteen experience specifically for 5th and 6th graders. Preteens will be engaged in high energy Bible Studies, events, worship times, retreats, missions activities, camps and so much more. Preteens will dive into the Bible as they cover topics and issues that relate to them right now, in an environment designed just for them.
Sunday Mornings Faith and Life, Together 10:00 - 11:00 am
If you ask them, preteens would tell you they’re not “in between” anything. They are facing puberty, drugs, sex, acceptance, and self-esteem issues every day. On Sunday morning Children in the Preteen Ministry study Bible lessons that are relevant to their lives, and encourage them to be leaders in the community.
Wednesday Nights 6:30-8:00 pm
Wednesday night is a special night for our preteens. With a meeting place they can call their own, preteens dive into scripture and engage in discussions that are relevant to what they are going through at this point in their life. Preteens are challenged to think critically and determine how the scripture relates to themselves.
During the course of the year the preteen ministry engages in events in order to build community and address specific issues, using the Bible, that preteens are dealing with right now. An example of some of the events we have throughout the year are as follows: “Preteen Weekends”, service projects, game nights, impromptu theme nights, and a week long preteen camp.
Events in which preteens spend the weekend as a group engaging in fun activities, a service project, and diving deep into a specific topic. Topics have included identity, relationships, prayer, and one weekend a year is devoted to “Choices,” in which we talk to children about making pure choices with their body, mind, relationships, and media.
God calls us to serve others, and service is crucial to understanding our identity. We plan events to allow preteens to get involved discovering who they are through serving others.
Game Nights/Theme Nights
These nights are built around community. These nights allow preteens to meet up with friends in a safe atmosphere.
A week long camp experience in which children hear about the message of God in a setting that pulls them away from games, media, iphones, and organized sports in order to allow them to focus more fully on God.
