HS- Volunteering
There are several opportunities available if you are interested in volunteering with our high school ministry:
Sunday School. There are a few ways you can help with Sunday School: 1. bring donuts/refreshments, 2. help teach, 3. help take role, 4. help contact students
Life Groups. If you would like to help with one of our life groups, we are always looking for more leaders to train. ”Teaching” involves discussing Sunday’s sermon, and the other main focus of the time is building relationships and growing students in their walks with Christ. We also like our Life Group leaders to lead their group during the Disciple Now weekend, which is a Friday-Saturday event within the first month or two of school every year.
Motion. There are a few opportunities to help with Motion, our youth worship service: 1. greet students as they arrive, 2. help setup/takedown, 3. help lead discussions, 4. help lead games.
Disciple Now. Disciple Now has a few key positions that are the same every year: 1. help develop theme/design/materials, 2. host a group at your house, 3. help drive students around, 4. help provide food for events, 5. help lead game times, 6. help with setup/takedown.
Mission Trip/Projects. You can attend church-wide mission trips and help them where needed, and/or for local youth mission projects, you can help drive students around, help come up with ideas, help provide food, etc.
Camp. A lot goes into making camp a success every year: 1. Attend as a sponsor or a cook, 2. help fundraising efforts during the year, 3. help gather/pack food for the week (we provide our own meals), 4. sponsor a student that can’t afford to go.
Other. We have countless other events throughout the year, and special needs that arise periodically. Probably the best help you could be is to offer to help out wherever needed, as needs change from time to time. We appreciate your desire to help!
Here is the process for becoming a volunteer:
1. Read the appropriate volunteer commitment docs(s): general, life group, youth camp, other
2. Fill out application form (which includes a consent of background check)
3. Contact: we will contact you to set up a personal meeting
Thank you for your interest in serving with our high school ministry!
