Our Pastor: Dr. Todd Pylant
Fort Worth has always been my home. I grew up in Hurst, attended North Richland Hills Baptist Church, and graduated from Bell High School in 1985. I then moved to Waco to study at Baylor University. It was during my time at Baylor, that I met my wife, Kelli. Upon graduating from Baylor in 1989, I moved back to Fort Worth to attend seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Two weeks after graduating from SWBTS, Kelli and I were married in 1993.
We moved to San Angelo, Texas where I pastored my first church, Dove Creek Baptist Church, a small mission church of FBC San Angelo. We spent a great two years in San Angelo, but moved back to Waco in 1995 where I began graduate work at Baylor. I quickly discovered that I was not "Ph.D." material, and accepted the call to pastor the First Baptist Church of Elm Mott, just north of Waco. In 2000, we moved to August, Georgia to serve as the Minister to Young Families at the First Baptist Church of Augusta. Then, in August of 2004, we moved back home to Fort Worth, accepting the call to serve as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Benbrook.
In June 2007, I finally completed the Doctor of Ministry degree from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Kelli and I have three wonderful children: Bailey, Cade, and Ainsley.
When not at the church, I can probably be found wherever my children are or on the road training for my next half marathon.
I invite you to visit An Examined Faith where I post regularly about my study and preparation for Sunday's sermon and invite your comments and observations along the way.
Also, the Sunday morning sermons are now available through iTunes as a podcast. Search for "FBC Benbrook Sermons" or use the icon below if you use a different podcast player.
