In accordance with the church by-laws, para 2.3, “the church at the December business meeting shall recommend the men who are to serve as active deacons beginning January 1. ”The primary functions of deacons in our church are to:
1. Support and assist the pastor and staff
2. Minister to Widows and Widowers
3. Serve on at least one of the four deacon ministry teams
4. Set an example in Worship, Bible Study, and Prayer Meeting attendance
5. Be a faithful financial contributor
Deacon qualifications come from 1 Timothy 3:8-13, and nominees must have been a member of the church for at least one year, and have a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus as Savior and Lord.
The Deacon Nominating Committee is accepting recommendations from church members for potential Deacon candidates. We invite you to pray about who you could recommend to serve the church for the next three years.
You can submit your recommendations by using the Nomination Form found in the Sunday bulletin or in the Sunday School Classes and by turning them into the church office or in the offering plate.
You can also submit your recommendations by using the form below.
While nominations are anonymous, we do ask for your email address to verify church membership when accepting nominations online. However, your name will not be attached to your recommendations when they are passed on to the Deacon Nominating Committee.
Please submit your nominations no later than September 30, 2024.
