M3 Camp

M3 Summer Camp July 15th-19th

M3 Camp

Cost - $330 per student. For families with more than one student attending M3 Camp: The first family member is $330 and then each additional student after that is half price ($165).

Cabins - Students will share dorm style rooms. The rooms fit anywhere from 4 to 8 people with a private bathroom / shower. Some of the dorms do not have A/C. It will be in the 60’s at night, however students are welcome to bring a fan. DO NOT pack valuable jewelry, keepsakes, or anything of value.

Cell Phones - Students are allowed to bring a cell phone, but they will be kept locked away and can only be used during a 30 minute period each night to call / text / or facetime their parents. I would encourage the students to not bring cell phones. I will keep all the cell phones in a locked case. They are welcome to use their phones as we travel to and from camp. Verizon has the best cell service at camp but AT&T is able to be used as well in certain spots around camp.

Updates - We will post photos from camp during the week. If you would like to see them please follow fbcbenbrook_students on instagram. This is a private page and we will have to approve you to see the page.

Money - Glorieta is a cashless camp. Purchases made in the camp store, snack shack, or coffee bar must be paid with a student’s cashless account, credit card, or debit card. You can create an account for them, monitor that account, and reload money onto their account through the Glorieta website. Project 1310, which raises money for students to go on mission trips, will be selling merchandise and does accept cash. Students will also need money for lunch on the way to camp and the way home from camp. We will stop and eat lunch as a group.

Dress Code - Campers (students and adults) are expected to reflect a Christian example by their dress. Sponsors, parents, and church leaders are responsible for the clothing and appearance of the youth and adults attending camp. Modest skirts, dresses, shorts, and jeans are acceptable in worship. Immodest shorts or tops, small tank tops, tight clothes, spaghetti strap tops, distasteful designs or messages, cheer shorts and other extreme clothes are not acceptable at any time. Shorts should be worn over tight yoga style pants. One-piece swimsuits or tankinis that cover the mid-waist are preferred. All others require a dark colored t-shirt to be worn over them at all times including while in the water. Campers may be asked to change their attire if an adult or Glorieta staff feels their dress is inappropriate.

Travel - Departure times TBD.

Medicine - Please put your students prescription meds in a big ziplock bag with first name, last name, and church name on them. Medication Administration Authorization Forms (which will be sent out soon) will need to be filled out and put in the bag. Please make sure medications are current with proper dosage on them.

Waiver - Glorieta requires their own waiver apart from the SBTC M3 Camp. I will send out the link once they release it to me.

Student Expectations - I expect each student to behave in a manner that brings glory to God. Students should remember that they are representing God, themselves, our church, and you as parents at Camp. If for any reason a student does something that is deemed overly inappropriate or is a risk to themselves or others I will require that you come get that student to go home. At NO time are two students of opposite sexes allowed to be in the same dorm room together. I will reiterate this to the students before arrival but I take this rule very seriously.

Altitude - The air there is dry, because of this your skin gets dry, your lips get dry, and your nose will get dry. If you are prone to nosebleeds please expect you will get one or two out of nowhere while you are at camp. I will have tissues for the adult leaders to carry around with them. It is a good idea to bring chapstick for your lips as well as lotion for your skin. Hydration is very important. The best way to fight off altitude sickness is to stay hydrated. A refillable water bottle is highly recommended.
