Scholarship Application Online Form

Scholarship Application

Welcome First Baptist Church of Benbrook (F.B.C.B.) Scholarship prospect! This is an online form that will allow you to produce a 'Digital Application' for the scholarship selection process.

Requirements for the F.B.C.B. Scholarship

•Scholarship recipients must stay active in a local church throughout the semester. Church attendance and active service involvement in a local church are of uttermost importance. We expect each scholarship recipient to continue to grow in their faith and walk with the Lord Jesus Christ during their continuing education.

•First-time applicants must have already graduated from an accredited high school or have successfully completed a home school program AND possess EITHER a diploma or G.E.D. The scholarship isn't available for dual-enrollment students still in high school.

•To be eligible for the F.B.C.B. Scholarship, students must ALREADY be enrolled for undergraduate work in an accredited college or trade school for either the fall or spring semesters. Scholarships can be tentatively approved by the Scholarship Committee, but distribution of funds to the college will not occur until after the student provides proof of enrollment. Scholarships are awarded on a priority basis. The first priority is to award scholarships to qualified high school graduates not having attended college after graduating from high school. If additional funds are available, they will be distributed to qualified, renewing scholarship applicants (who have received F.B.C.B. scholarships in a previous semester). Scholarships may not be the full amount received in prior years (based on the number of applications and budget available). Scholarships are not awarded for enrollment during 'short,' 'mini' or 'summer' semesters.

•Scholarships to be awarded will be capped at $500 per school year (no more than $250 per semester) for full-time students or $250 per school year (no more than $125 per semester) for part-time students. The scholarship checks will be made out and mailed to the educational institutions, not the students or their families.

•Applications must be submitted prior to June 30th (if the student is enrolled for a fall semester)or prior to December 15th (if the student is enrolled for a spring semester). Applications that are not submitted BEFORE those specific dates will NOT be considered for scholarship assistance. Unless prior approval for a late form has been approved by vote of the F.B.C.B. Scholarship Committee, there will be no exceptions for late submission.

•Application forms are valid for one semester. If you have previously received the F.B.C.B. Scholarship, and wish to receive another, you must reapply. When reapplying, all elements of the scholarship application must be resubmitted.

•While attending post-secondary school as a recipient of the F.B.C.B. Scholarship, students must maintain a 'C' (2.0 G.P.A.) average in ALL courses, failing NONE of them during the semester while financed with the F.B.C.B. Scholarship.

•The only withdrawals from classes allowed, while students are utilizing the F.B.C.B. Scholarship, are limited to 'W-P' (Withdrawal-Passing). The scholarship recipients must still maintain the minimum requirements of carrying 12 credit hours (if enrolled as a full-time pupil) or 6 credit hours (for part-time students) after any and all withdrawals.

•Any student who has received the F.B.C.B. Scholarship but failed to meet the criteria set forth in this application must re-establish eligibility in a following semester [by demonstrating a commitment to taking the minimum number of credit hours for an entire semester and meeting the F.B.C.B. Scholarship grade requirements of a 2.0 G.P.A./'C' average in all courses, with none failed] BEFORE reapplying for another F.B.C.B. Scholarship.
